I used to make hidey holes in our lovely red bottle brush when I was a child living in New Zealand, I loved the tickle-y stamens and gazed at them for what seemed like hours (but was probably two minutes;).) "Velcroed in place" - lovely. xox
You were one hardy girl to get into a prickly bottlebrush! Glad I could bring back a nice memory. Hope it helps fill your bucket ;-)
This is one bristly post! They are gorgeous aren't they?
beautiful! i just found out that they have a lot of aussie plants over here in ca. i've seen bottlebrushes... and gum trees! ;)
Yes, we saw some there too. They look a bit weird to our eyes because they have no predators that eat the leaves, so they have all their canopy which is so heavy, the branches bend downwards! Not used to seeing gums that look like willows. Apparently the gums here survive with about half of their possible canopy! Amazingly hardy:-) XO JJ
What super-abundent candles flaming all over with such beautiful contrasting green. D says "The bees must be having a ball !!" Takes us back to a favourite plant in our garden. D&M xxxx
As they say in The Classics ...flaming brilliant :-)
If a topic has special significance for you, or touches you in some way, I'd love to hear your story! I will return the favour and we will gently touch hands across the miles...or kilometres :-)
